New York State Assemblyman Clifford Crouch has confirmed that he will not be running for reelection.

The Bainbridge Republican was first elected to the Assembly in November 1995.

Crouch, who represents the 122nd Assembly District, announced that he will not seek another two-year term.

In a statement, Crouch said he made the decision “despite overwhelming support from friends, family, colleagues and community members from around the district.”

Crouch said he has “reached the point in my life where spending time with family is my main priority.”

Nick Libous, a son of the late Senator Thomas Libous, Monday announced he will seek the Republican nomination in the 122nd Assembly District.
